Had I been in the presence of Robert Gibbs during this Q&A, I either would have burst out laughing or bitch-slapped him for insulting my/Americans’ intelligence. But alas, we have a room full of good journalists who do nothing of the sort and let Gibbs go after stating that record cold is a result of global warming. Oh wait, “it’s” not called global warming anymore (because that’s not proven) so “it” has to be called “climate change” (weather). Climate change (weather) does happen, so by making weather evil, one can be taxed according to whim and weather. Liberal genius.
Gibbs: “I think that one only has to step outside here or visit where I used to work in Chicago to understand that climate change, and the record temperature that climate change is likely causing, is with us….I would say that eve in places that are used to getting very cold weather, record cold…our weather patterns have been affected by change in our climate”
Record low temperatures tonight will be the result of climate change, record high temperatures in the summer is the result of climate change,….
Hide the decline…
Some fun reactions:
“If it’s hot, it’s global warming. If it’s cold, it’s global warming. They’ve set the premise that global warming is fact so all facts are inconsequential. And these are the people that want to run the healthcare system. God save us.”
“Orwell’s Doublespeak is officially here.”
“Yes, Virginia, there is climate change. Just as the earth is in constant motion, so is our earthly climate. It varies from one century, one decade, one month, one day, to the next. Patterns seem to emerge and then it goes off in another direction entirely.
Here’s a pdf of a weather pamphlet from 1922: November, 1922 Monthly Weather Review
Under a column entitled THE CHANGING ARCTIC:
[Under date of October 10, 1922, the American Consul at Bergen, Norway, submitted the following report to the State Department, Washington, D.C.]The Arctic seems to be warming up. Reports from fisherman, seal hunters and explorers who sail the seas about Spitzbergen and the eastern Arctic, all point to a radical change in climatic conditions, and hitherto unheard-of high temperatures in that part of the earth’s surface. (more follows)
The current generation thinks it is happening as a result of human activity, primarily humans other than themselves, of course. But what do you expect from a bunch of spiritually-bankrupt, egotistical humanists?”
