NPR has received a $1.8 million grant from the Open Society Foundations to begin a project called Impact of Government that is intended to add at least 100 journalists at NPR member radio stations in all 50 states over the next three years.

The reporters, editors and analysts will cover state governments and how their actions affect people.

And you know they will be completely objective. But isn’t it nice to see the liver spotted hand of Mr. Soros reaching down to the state level. This is what he must have meant when he said years ago that he was ‘getting out of politics.’

The project “creates capacity for local stations to hire reporters and to cover issues that matter that other places aren’t doing,” said Vivian Schiller [sic], NPR’s president and chief executive. “Everything that we’re doing as relates to member stations comes down to two things: building local news capacity and making sure the content we create is available to all people across all platforms.”

Ms. Schiller said the journalists would not be part of typical statehouse coverage, but instead would work on enterprise journalism that looks at how state government decisions play out over years, and extend beyond a single state’s borders.

Meaning that they will skip all the boring ‘nuts and bolts’ stuff and go straight to the propaganda.

The program, one of a number of new public media reporting projects meant to counter some of the cutbacks in profit-making journalism, will begin with an eight-state pilot phase in March 2011. Eventually, NPR and local stations hope to raise about $17 million to expand the program, and $18 million to $19 million annually to sustain it, said Ron Schiller [sic], president of the NPR Foundation and NPR’s senior vice president for development (and no relation to Ms. Schiller.)…

In other words, NPR plans to supplement these propagandists with taxpayer money. (By the way, look at how many ‘schillers’ there are at NPR. Talk about ‘truth in labeling.’)

Home Depot founder rips Obama WH as “tenured” academics, apologizes for creating jobs

No one in the White House knows how to create jobs, and Bernie Marcus knows why. On CNBC, the founder of Home Depot blasted Barack Obama and his administration as a collection of tenured dilettantes who have never had to meet a payroll in their lives. Greg Hengler offers a couple of juicy excerpts from his appearance, especially when Marcus starts “apologizing” for having created over 300,000 jobs through the kind of entrepeneurship that the current White House wants to discourage:

French First Lady’s book outs Michelle Obama’s “Hell” Well duh.  Tell me something I don’t already know.  You can’t hate America (its history, its average person, its Constitution, and its economy) and love being its First Lady. Impossible. But who can blame her – she went from having THE CUSHIEST JOB EVAH, to this. As I said yesterday, Michelle & Barry’s disdain for America has always been obvious to me, but it will be nice when more folks take off the blinders so that we can relieve Michelle of her “hell” job in 2012.  Maybe she can go be Queen of Cuba or Venezuela.  I think she’d like that much better because the America that’s not worthy of her pride, the one full of downright mean people, isn’t going anywhere and its not going to let her rewrite its history.  She, on the other hand, is on borrowed time.  It seems obvious she know it too.

By the way, that ever-awesome picture of Michelle and Bruni above truly is the gift that keeps on giving.  So much funnier than it was yesterday.

The report by federal number-crunchers casts fresh doubt on Democrats’ argument that the health-care law would curb the sharp increase in costs over the long term, the second setback this week for one of the party’s biggest legislative achievements.

The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that insurance companies have proposed rate increases ranging from 1% to 9% nationwide that they attribute specifically to new health-law coverage mandates.

What a monstrous waste.  Not only are insurance premiums going to necessarily rise, but all those Democratic promises that the law would decrease costs were, in fact, bogus.  “Yes” to increased premiums, “no” to decreased costs.  Got it.

Awesome.

Those evil rich making 200-250k, they are the small business owners and professionals who hire people and spend money so that others can hire people.  They do not vacation on the coast of Spain, but they do take trips to Vegas and Orlando.  They don’t have multimillion dollar book deals lined up, but they buy plenty of books and others things that help stimulate the private economy.  They don’t get special land deals to buy a mansion in the big city, but they do plenty of home improvements that put the bitter, clingy people to work.

Poor Barry.  It’s so hard to unlearn the lessons of childhood. REALLY HARD.

This, my friends, is just another example, another necessary step in what Barry would call (in private, of course!) flooding the system.

No, Liberals’ favorite tactic, the race card, is not going anywhere anytime soon.  I hope you’re following the debate between the “racist” Tea Party and the racist NAACP.  It is the problem I mention above exemplified perfectly.  As boring as it all is, I’m glad those profiteering on the race card industry are being called out on their own racism, enabling gems like this to slip…

Liberals/Progressives will never admit and/or understand, however, that they are the greatest racists of all.  Their policies toward blacks are inherently racist, showing their true belief that blacks just aren’t as capable as whites, and hence, need special treatment.  I don’t understand how more blacks don’t see this for themselves.  I just read a blog post that speaks to this point perfectly; I’m going to c&p the entire post here, just in case the link should ever die.  The Afroconservative’s words are so, so true.  But then again, I’m just a racist and she’s just an Uncle Tom, right?

Liberal Democrats Destroyed Black America, Who Wants Next?

In the wake of Derrion Albert’s death, I find myself increasingly disillusioned by the current state of Black America. While African Americans comprise 13.5 percent of the population, 43 percent of all murder victims in 2007 were African America. Of the 43 percent who were murdered, 93.1 percent were killed by African Americans.

Was it always like this? The answer is Unequivocally: NO.

The disproportionate crime rates, illegitimacy rates, divorce rates, drugs abuse, and disproportionate incarceration rates didn’t begin until liberals took over the Black Community in the 60s. Before liberals came and negated the influence of the Black father, over 80 percent of black children in 1960 were born in wedlock. In 1940 the illegitimacy rate amongst Blacks was 19 percent. Today, post the liberals monopoly in the poor urban areas, the illegitimacy rate is over 70 percent and almost 90 percent in the inner city. Surprisingly, between 1890 and 1940 Blacks had a marriage rate slightly higher than Whites. According to Herbert G. Gutman author of “The Black Family in Slavery and Freedom (1750-1925)”– for every 6 children under the age of under the of 6-5 of them lived in two parent households. In Harlem between 1905 and 1925, only 3 percent of all families were headed by a woman under 30. In this same time period, 85 percent of black children lived in two-parent families.

The training ground for any human being begins in the home. The dynamics of the home environment can do two things: it can set the child up for failure or for success. When Patrick Moynihan, a Democrat began seeing the negative trends of entitlement programs regarding the Black Family in the 60s he wrote the “Moynihan Report”. In the “Moynihan Report” he predicted that if the Black family continued to disintegrate, then there would be issues of delinquency, crime, disproportional educational outcomes, and other social problems that come when a father isn’t active in a child’s life.

What did the liberals do with this information? They called Moynihan a racist! They decried that he was “blaming the victim” and that he was against the “strong black woman” and that she could do it all by herself. Well, it wasn’t all by her lonesome because the nanny state (LBJ’s Great Society) was going to be there to replace daddy. Part of the stipulations for receiving welfare was that the Black father was not able to be present in the home. Therein lies the beginning of the destruction of our families.

Well, on behalf of the Black race, I want to thank all the liberal feminists who screwed up Black America with their entitlement programs and their warped world views. I want to thank the Saul Alinksy’s and all the “community organizers” who used the Blacks as pawns to advance their Marxist agenda. The progressives of this day had it all figured out. In order to eradicate the capitalist foundation of this country, they would need to put as many people on the welfare rolls as possible. The progressives didn’t care about Blacks before this. They were too busy empathizing with Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini. Look it up. Moreover, racist Progressives like Margaret Sanger (founder of Planned Parenthood) were too busy pushing their eugenics (i.e. let’s kill off as many black people and other “undesirables” as possible).

Do you think Lyndon Baines Johnson and John F Kennedy cared about Blacks in this time? Lyndon Baines Johnson and John F Kennedy didn’t even support civil rights legislation until it became politically convenient to do so. Neither supported the Civil Rights Act of 1957 (pushed by REPUBLICANS). In fact, the same president we thank for Great Society, Mr. LBJ said, “President Truman’s civil rights program “is a farce and a sham–an effort to set up a police state in the guise of liberty. I am opposed to that program. I have voted against the so-called poll tax repeal bill. . .. I have voted against the so-called anti-lynching bill.”

Liberals managed to destroy an institution that survived the most heinous of circumstances.

So, what’s the answer?

More government? Obama? PUHLEEZE! Spare me! Obama has the same prescription for the REST OF AMERICA that the Liberals had for Blacks in the 60s. It’s not going to work. When you want to think of what a liberal utopia will look like in America (don’t think of Stalin’s Russia, Mussolini’s Italy, or Hitler’s Germany-I know it’s tempting) just picture the ghettos of America.

Hey liberals, You cannot help lift people out of poverty by taking from one group to give to another. All that happens with redistribution of wealth is a new “slave” that the liberals can count on that will always vote for them. Contrast that to the Conservative Republican response to poverty, which is change your values, maintain strong family structures that create human capitol, and then stay out of the private sector so the private sector can do what it does best-create WEALTH. That way it becomes nearly impossible to become slaves to the Conservative Republican “system” of economic revitalization.

The answer for Black America is getting back to our values. Not the values of the amoral, nihilistic liberals. We need to go back to a place where we reject moral relativity. We need to encourage Black men to marry Black women before they bring children into the world. We need to stop “dogging” Black people who are educating themselves and speaking proper english. We need to stop calling them “sell-outs” and “uncle toms”. We need to stop saying “You talk like a White person” when one of “us” speaks proper english. Intelligence is not strictly “white domain”-no matter what liberals tell you. Liberals continually want to absolve Blacks of personally responsibility. Liberals say we kill each other, we rob from each other because we “don’t know any better” or because ” we can’t help ourselves”. That’s bull. We do know better. We can do better. We will do better when we get back to our “roots”. What are those “roots”?–God, Family and Education. More Government, and Obama definitely aren’t part of the prescription for a better tomorrow.

To those of you who, like me, often have trouble reconciling your feelings towards friends and family who helped to contribute to Obama’s “fundamental transformation of America” by voting for him, you may find the commentary on the brewing unrest within the Democratic party interesting, if not hopeful.  For almost two years now, one of my favorite blogs is Hillbuzz – a group of gay, post-Democrat men who were staunch supporters of Hillary during the ’08 campaign, only to turn on the Democratic party after the Leftist/Progressive takeover was complete.  Love these guys. Not only are these men awesome writers, but they are patriots of the highest magnitude.  They have the sharpest political savvy, and they’d make absolutely brilliant advisers to the right candidate.  Check out their post today on The Democrats’ Civil War.

Spill reveals Obama’s lack of executive experience.

Some of us who live in the obvious tried to point the necessity of executive experience years ago during the presidential campaign, but the kool-aid was flowing and folks wanted to see in Obama what wasn’t and isn’t there: competent experience.   Obama is a theorist.  He’s never been in charge of anything, and America knew it and elected him anyway, so why blame him now that he cannot manage this crisis the way you’d like?  Well, some of us can blame him, but we’re sure as hell going to blame you too.  It’s his glaring inexperience that has reduced Obama to follow the advice of a second-rate, has-been artist.  The result is an embarrassment. What Spike and most of America still neglect to consider is that Obama’s not “cool” or “Nodrama Obama” – HE’S A NARCISSIST.  He can’t show emotion. It’s always about him.  Force him to pretend to be otherwise, and the phony result is even more disturbing THAN THE UNFORTUNATE REALITY. Almost.  But not quite.

B-b-b-but, it takes time to clean up 8 years of crap! No, Simpletons.  Obama’s policies since taking office have not only thrown the country into greater, unprecedented debt, but the market’s fear of his damning policies-to-come have stalled growth entirely.

He was attending his second party this week, tonight at the Ford Theatre.

According to the Ford’s Theatre website, the event tonight is described as follows:

Ford’s Theatre Society will host its annual gala on Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Ford’s Theatre (511 10th Street NW). The evening’s performance, titled “America Celebrates July 4th at Ford’s Theatre,” will be taped for broadcast on the ABC Television Network to air July 2, 2010 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET). Modern Family cast member Ty Burrell hosts a star-studded program with appearances by Kelly Clarkson, Renee Fleming, George Lopez, Lionel Richie, Robin Roberts, Dick Van Dyke, Laura Michelle Kelly and Gavin Lee from the Broadway Company of “Mary Poppins,” the Soldiers’ Chorus of the United States Army Field Band, and cast members from the Ford’s Theatre production of “Little Shop of Horrors.”

Not this president.  Granted he pontificated recently (and oh so eloquently!) at the dangers of Americans having too much information right at their fingertips, that so much information is a “distraction,” but surely the most transparent and open administration EVAH can handle a little criticism.  This administration loves the press in all forms. Obama welcomes the challenge of contrary views as an opportunity to clarify and amplify his own, especially in press conferences! He would never try to silence any form of media.  God, racist wingnuts are soooooo paranoid!

Anyway, here’s a few clues to get you on your way with Obama’s newest advisor, Ben Scott…

Ben Scott was a graduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign when he co-authored a piece with McChesney for the Monthly Review on the problems of “capitalist journalism.” He and McChesney also co-authored Our Unfree Press: 100 Years of Radical Media Criticism. Scott would go on to serve as a legislative fellow for then-Representative and open socialist Bernie Sanders and then become the policy director for Free Press.  The contributors to Monthly Review include former Weather Underground terrorist Bernardine Dohrn; Marilyn Buck, another former Weather Underground member; convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal; Bill Fletcher, Jr., a founder of Progressives for Obama; and Chomsky.  In a piece titled, “Homeland Imperialism: Fear and Resistance,” Dohrn wrote of the “robust and unified resistance to imperialism” after the terrorist attacks of 9/11.

Scott authored a book, “The Future of Media,” which was edited by the founder of Free Press, Robert W. McChesney.  McChesney is an avowed Marxist who has recommended capitalism be dismantled.  He is a professor at the University of Illinois and former editor of the Marxist journal Monthly Review. … The board of Free Press has included a slew of radicals, such as Obama’s former “green jobs” czar Van Jones, who resigned after it was exposed he founded a communist organization. … Free Press published a study advocating the development of a “world class” government-run media system in the U.S. Now the group is pushing a new organization, StopBigMedia.com, that advocates the downfall of “big media” and the creation of new media to “promote local ownership, amplify minority voices, support quality [ie. leftist] journalism, and bring local artists, voices and viewpoints to the airwaves.”

Riiiiiiight.  So Sestak is lying now too.  Fine. He’s all yours, Dems.  You must be very, very proud.

Golly, I wonder if Barry and Bill practiced their story yesterday? You’d think liars of this caliber would have come up with this a bit sooner.  Liars and slackers to boot.  Pfft.

LOVE this.  Like most union members, teachers are embarrassingly out of touch when it comes to their salaries and benefit contributions compared to that of the private sector.  What makes this even better is that this Rita Wilson’s argument, which vacillates annoyingly and pathetically between that of victim and martyr is SO PERFECTLY TYPICAL of what teachers say all the time about their shitty compensation for the job they ONLY do because they love the kids.  Only thing missing here is that she occasionally has to buy pencils and tissues for her students out of her own, measly, 85K salary.

Christie tells teacher to find a new job if she doesn’t like her pay.

And if that wasn’t enough, Christie throws this cherry on top of the sundae: “Your union said that is the greatest assault on public education in the history of the state,” Christie said. “That’s why the union has no credibility, stupid statements like that.” Hahaha!  Awesome.  As a teacher union member, THANKS, CHRISTIE!

Lots of fooky economic stories this week.  Here are a few that I particularly disliked:

TIME IS RUNNING OUT FOR U.S. TO TACKLE FISCAL WOES. I don’t know about you , but Obama’s guy Volcker sure does sound an awful lot like that fearmongering, eeeeeevil Glenn Beck.  Someone aught to censor them both – they’re dangerous!

US MONEY SUPPLY PLUNGES AS OBAMA EYES FRESH STIMULUS Let me take a stab at what this means… Despite historic amounts of money being printed, its circulation is at near-historic lows…right around where we were just before the Depression.   So why is this happening?  Well, spending is down because Americans just aren’t trusting in the rainbows and unicorns promised by Obama and the stimulus, no matter how often this administration tries to imprint in our minds that it saved us from disaster.  Spending is also down because the demonized banks are scared shitless and aren’t lending.  Maybe they’re waiting for a crash and run?  Maybe they’re waiting for 2012?  I don’t know, but it’s not good.  So what’s next? Clearly, Something is coming.  And you can bet your bottom dollar that throwing more Barry Bucks in the fan isn’t going to stop It.

Now would be a great time for one of my liberal friends to explain to me how this liberal dream ends well.  How is this sustainable?  What happens when you run out of other-people’s money? Not if, when.
